From September 2018 we have been able to offer you a brand new and prestigious qualification course. This new qualification was introduced in 2017 to be an alternative route to gain qualifications in grooming. The AIM Diploma is regulated by Ofqual and is the only recognised qualification on the National Educational Framework. The qualification will provide learners with an understanding of what is required when grooming different breeds of dogs, and the skills necessary to carry out dog grooming and salon management activities.

AIM Level 3 Diploma Full Course:-

No Entry Level – there is no requirement to complete a lower level qualification first – you can go straight on to the AIM Level 3 Diploma Course without any previous dog grooming experience.

Units included within this qualification are:

Assess, Plan and Record Dog Grooming Work
Canine First Aid
Carry Out Styling and Finishing of a Dog
Health Checking a Dog by a Dog Groomer
Promote and Maintain the Health and Well-Being of Animals
Welcome, Receive and Care for Customers

The final unit of the qualification is to complete a practical assessment by grooming and styling one pure breed dog in the presence of an appointed AIM Assessor. The date for this can be quite flexible and arranged nearer the time of completion. The Assessment will take place at Dapper Dogs so no need to travel to a different venue.

This is a mandatory 280 GLH (Guided Learning Hours) course which can be attended on either a full time or flexible schedule – or a combination of both) so that it can work in with your other committments. The Canine First Aid Certificate is included in the course fees.

Cost for Full Course – £5250 – (inclusive of AIM Registration & Qualification, all Diploma Course Guides and Course Journals, all Documentation, Canine First Aid Certificate and Final Certification).

Flexible Attendance

Flexible Attendance:- The first day of any course – the Induction day – includes a huge amount of new information so for this reason it is better for all students – flexible or otherwise – to attend a pre-arranged induction day along with other students, and we find it helps you to really settle in. The second day is also necessary because we use that day to introduce you to the different types of grooming equipment you will use and how to handle dogs safely. After that the choice is yours so you can be as flexible as you want or need to be. You tell us when you want to attend, for example 1 or 2 days a week – or a few days in a row every few weeks – or almost any combination can be arranged.

A full course consists of a fixed number of ‘guided learning hours’ (GLH) to complete your course – so we will keep a signed off attendance record throughout. This means that if some of your training days are shorter because you need to go to another job or pick up your children from school, your course will just continue until you have completed the GLH.

This kind of flexibility allows you to train for a new career whilst still holding down another job or meeting other commitments. We would advise that you don’t let too much time elapse between attendances so that you don’t forget your newly learnt skills.
